Because of J-Bay’s unique location and favourable weather, it offers visitors an incredibly diverse range of activities…within Jeffreys Bay itself as well as the surrounding areas. Known for it’s perfect surf, Jeffreys Bay has lots more to offer than surfing. Some activities include but are not limited to horse riding, scuba diving, spear fishing, deep sea fishing, shore fishing, shopping, sight seeing, golf, X-Trail running, mountain biking, 4×4 trails, game safaris and township tours.
For the even more adventurous, sky-diving and bungee jumping can be arranged.
Ten incredible surf spots all within a 3-4km radius cater for the beginner surfer as well as the seasoned pro. We have also partnered with Kelvin Zehmke, Billabong Sponsored Team Rider, SSA Accredited Surf Coach and owner of Son Surf School JBay. Son Surf School offers coaching for the beginner, intermediate and advanced surfer in group or private lessons. All equipment is provided. Kelvin can also assist you if you’re considering purchasing new surf equipment and can offer great deals on almost all Billabong surf wear.
Safari / Game Driving
Jeffreys Bay is located a short distance from the Addo National park, as well as in close proximity to various private game reserves. There is also a Lion Park and Bird Sanctuary on offer in the regions.
We have teamed up with Featherfoot Riding School who are based in the Kabeljous area of Jeffreys Bay. Horse riding lessons are on offer as well as a stunning 2 hour beach ride that takes you through the beautiful Kabeljous nature reserve, across the Kabeljous lagoon, over sand dunes and ends up in a gallop…or canter along the ocean front.
The beautiful St Francis Links is a 18 Hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Course that was opened in 2006. Golf Digest voted it as the best new course in SA in 2007 and it’s currently ranked number 8 in the course rankings of South Africa. Group and individual golf lessons are on offer. Alternatively you can play a full round of 18 or opt for 9 holes. Thinus Keller is the Head Golf Professional and our point of contact.
For the uninformed, it would be impossible to imagine how vast and rich the under water life of Jeffreys Bay actually is. Jeffreys Bay has pristine, diverse and very well preserved reefs providing lots of eye candy for beginners and advanced divers. New species of Nudi Branchs are still discovered from time to time, and it’s a macro photographer’s paradise. African Waters Scuba operates in and around Jeffreys Bay, offering PADI training, gear rental, scuba diving charters as well as equipment sales and service.
